This was a very special piece. This customer's husband had a passion for hippos and she wanted to make a ring for their 35th wedding anniversary. I took photos of a ceramic hippo and used it as a guide to make the head section peaking above the top surface of the ring. On the CAD rendering you'll notice that the eyes on both hippos are different. This gives you an idea of how you can show different ideas in the rendering so the customer can make the decision. The waxes off the mill are made with jewelers wax so you can work on them by hand if any adjustments are needed. This is illustrated by the waves that were put on the wax after it was milled.
